Glossary
  • APAR: Authorized Program Analysis Report, a process to collect diagnostic data.
  • DST: Dedicated Service Tools.
  • DSU: Development Support Utility, which is basically an IDE for programming.
  • IDDU: Interactive Data Definition Utility, used for programming.
  • IPL: Initial Program Load, which loads the program from disk, tape, and diskette. This operation can be performed manually, remotely, timed, or as a restart.
  • LIC / Licensed Internal Code: Set of system programs and libraries.
  • Licensed Program: Set of RPG programs and libraries that encompass the custom system, eg. ERP.
  • PTF: Program Temporary Fix.
  • RPG II: Programming language for System/36.
  • SSP: System Support Program, which is a group of licensed programs that manage the running of other programs and the operation of associated devices, such as the display station and printer. The SSP also contains utility programs that perform common tasks, such as copying information from diskette to disk. In essence, it is the Operating system for System/36 which is run on the Advanced 36 9402 Model 236 system.
