Software Development Meeting 2010-Aug-02
Software Review
- Sound Library.
- Patient Information screen.
- Reports screen.
Suggested Actions
- Add “View All” patients checkbox, to prevent patient list from displaying (to meet HIPAA).
- Add “Order Product” session event to Patient Info screen.
- Add forms to print, and prefill them with known data.
- Design forms (required fields, optional fields) with desired layout (Barbara).
- Make distinction between Custom Branding vs. Private Labeling
Custom Branding vs. Private Labeling
Private Labeling
It includes custom Product Names, Logo, and labels in the ezFIT software, and user documentation. It does not stop a product from being read with another private label software (e.g. a Vista HI&A product is also read in Audina ezFIT).
- The current private labels are:
- Audifone (Brazil)
- Audina (Germany)
- Audi-Nat (Mexico)
- Auditiva (Denmark)
- Auri (Denmark)
- BTE675DP Fitting (China)
- HearingCentral
- Newson
- Newsound
- Sonitech
- TransEar
- Vista HI & A
- Challenges:
- Tracking product names while doing support.
- Hours
- Software Engineering: 80-100 hours.
- Marketing: 100-200 hours.
- Audiology: 30-40 hours.
- Production Training Time: unknown.
- Production Re-Training Time: unknown.
- Requires integrating into ezFIT:
- Private product names list.
- Splash logo (company ID).
- Labels (changes within software).
- User documentation.
- Translation (in some instances).
Custom Branding
It includes all of private labeling features, and in addition includes special manufacturer code and custom software so there is no reading of Audina (or other custom brand) products.
- The current custom brands are:
- Audina
- Auditiva
- Sonetik
- PHSI
- Challenges:
- Tracking product names while doing support.
- Require unique manufacturer ID code provided by chip manufacturer.
- Provide branding tool for QC to load custom manufacturer ID code and potentially custom default values.
- Provide custom software for QC to test instruments.
- Provide Order Entry method for dealing with repairs.
- Provide coordination with all affected parties (Production, QC, Software, Sales).
- Design processes with forward and backward compatibility in mind (i.e. maintain compatibility with ezFIT4 and ezFIT5 platforms).
- Hours
- Software Engineering: 240-320 hours.
- Marketing: 300-500 hours.
- Audiology: 80-120 hours.
- Production Training Time: unknown.
- Production Re-Training Time: unknown.
- Requires
- Supplier interface.
- Interdepartmental coordination (production impact, QC, OE, SW and Audiology support factors).
- Software development for customization.
- QC customization for software.
- Product support education.
