Importing and Updating Customer Contacts from System36
- Open PCAnywhere software and login to PCANYWHERE machine (use domain credentials). The PCANYWHERE machine is a terminal directly connected to the System36 server.
- Open BosâNova to connect to System36, and login (use System36 credentials). Press the <Ctrl> key instead of <Enter> (or <Enter> in numeric keypad) to submit the data.
- Click on <DTF Open Profile> icon in toolbar (6th icon).
- Click on “Open” tab, and check path for exporting data. The path should be
C:\Program Files\BOS\BOSaNOVA Plus 32\Custmast.h2p
. Click <OK> when ready.
- Verify the data transfer File Location (Profile > PC > Location). It should display “
\\FILESERVER\Act\Weekly Updates\WeeklyUpdate.txt
”. - Run data transfer by clicking on <!> button. It takes about 5 min. to generate the file.
- Logout of System36. Close any dialog boxes in you, and choose option 24 from the main menu.
- Open OnContact Import utility (Start > Programs > OnContact Software > Utilities > Import). You must have OnContact credentials to run it.
- Select “Daily Customer Master Update From the System 36” from the “From” drop-down box.
- Run Import (click on first icon in toolbar). It takes about 1 min to complete import.
- If a record is not updated correctly,
- Verify that it is in file “
\\FILESERVER\Act\Weekly Updates\WeeklyUpdate.txt
”. - Make a copy of that file, and edit it to remove all the non-relevant records (i.e. leave in only the record giving trouble, including the starting and ending column headers).
- Perform the Import again.
- Login to OnContact to perform a search to see if record was loaded correctly.
